Ecological textile testing

日期: 2020-06-03

Currently, products that are certified as ecological textiles are the safest of all textiles. The internationally influential ecological textiles are Oeko-Tex, the ecological textiles certification of the International Association for Research and Inspection of Ecological Textiles, and Eco-label of the European Union. China also promulgated the National standard GB/T 18885-2009 Technical specifications of ecological textiles on November 22, 2002.

Different product applications and testing methods constitute the following categories:

1. All fabrics, raw materials and accessories used to make garments for infants and children under two years old, except leather clothing.

2. Products that come in direct contact with the skin (Category II products)

When worn, most of the fabrics come in direct contact with the skin (e.g. shirts, underwear, etc.).

3. Products that do not come in contact with the skin (Category III products)

When worn, only a small part of product come in direct contact with the skin, and most do not (such as: padding, lining, etc.).

 4. Decorative materials (Category IV products)

All products and materials used for sewing indoor decorations, such as tablecloths, wall coverings, furniture fabrics, curtains, upholstery fabrics, floor coverings, etc.
